Very soon! There are already great companies in the USA and China who have made successful self-driving cars. However, I think we will first see self-driving cars used at airports and ports ferrying passengers from terminals to the plane/boats rather than on the roads!

      Good question!
      Honest answer? I don’t know…
Companies like Tesla and Google are already experimenting with self-driven cars in the US and my guess is it will be at least five to ten years before they are allowed on the roads there. Before they are allowed on the roads here in Ireland I think we can probably add another five to ten years to that.

It’s very hard to estimate. The technology is nearly ready, still requires some testing and a new set of laws and rules need to be agreed before we see self-driving cars on the street. It is really difficult to predict the direction of legislation but I would hope that by 2030 we won’t need to drive ourselves anymore.
