I don’t build anything. My work is about making decisions as to what will keep people safe and secure when flying.

Hi ciara! In my job I work on designing and making lasers. The lasers we use are incredibly small. They are about as thick as a hair on your head and about a millimeter long!! They’re so small that we actually need really powerful microscopes to look at them when we do our testing. It’s really easy drop them too… Which happened on my very first day in my job! Luckily we had spares though!

Medium! Right now I am helping students to design and build a small car. Sometimes I design test equipment that fits on top of a table. But a lot of my work is about making computer software or doing calculations.

      Both!

The medicine my work produces start off at 34,000 litres in a tank that is 4 storeys high. By the end if the process, you are left with about 200 grams of pure concentrated active ingredients. That’s the same weight as 4 pop tarts!
