When I started in my first job it was probably 90% of my time. Now that I’m a project manager a lot more of time is spent managing projects etc. I would say that now around 40-50% of time is on technical engineering problems, but I enjoyed project management also so I’m happy with that balance.

not as much as I would like to. I am a manager so most of that gets done by the engineers and researchers working here. I do still get to contribute a few times a day at least

It used to be 100% but is coming down as management and meetings go up.
I’d say 30% technical studies, 30% technical problems and the rest is project management/communications etc.
