I have so many plans and so little time. I need to first finish my PhD so I can move on and get a job. I’m also working on an idea for a startup company from my research.

Finally I’m busy with preparations for next year – the UN has declared 2015 the International Year of Light. I sit on the national committee and we are thinking of ways to bring optics & photonics to everyone in Ireland. If I win, I want to make a Lighthouse, a giant marquee that’s dark on the inside with lots of really cool light experiments. There’ll be everything from UV makeup, jelly to make lenses, polarisers to make art, optical illusions to lasers! This Lighthouse will travel around the country, so everyone can see it.

My plans for the next couple of years involved getting funding for two big project ideas I currently have for the company. I am actually currently writing a proposal for one of these ideas (which can take a very long time to put together 🙂 )

My plan for the future is to stay working in the power industry, probably doing the same thing BUT I will continue to make cool new things at home too. My current plans mostly include new gizmos to attach to my guitar(s).
