      Do it!
Really, it’ll be the best thing you ever do. There’s so many opportunities to work in cool jobs and travel the world. Just focus on understanding how things work, ask “why?” about everything and try and focus on maths/physics etc where you can.

I would say if your interested in it, do it. Spend some time on the internet looking at some of the new cool engineering projects that are going on – I don’t know how anyone wouldn’t want to be involved! Keep up the higher levels Maths and Science as well as they are usually required to get into a course (and represent a huge part of engineering!)

If you are interest in engineering and think you would like it I suggest go for it. Engineering is a great career which I have enjoyed from my first day in college

Go for it! If you are interested, then definitely. Even if you aren’t good at science and maths, you can still do engineering. I did terrible in my leaving cert but I worked hard and eventually made it into engineering.

Engineering is awesome as it gives you so many options with your life. You don’t have to stay and engineer but the skills you learn in becoming one, really helps you with all aspects of your career in whatever it may be. I know of engineers who went into finance, business, art… Engineering is also really interesting and so wide, you can do biology and engineering – bioengineering. You’ll never be bored in engineering.

      bambino

1st step you have taken.. you have asked a bunch of enigneers
next thing is figure out what type of engineering and then the next thing is to go to a company or university and ask to do a few days work experience. Shadow an engineer and see if its for you.

I did this when I was in 2nd or 3rd year. I went to a big electronics manufacturer and i liked it. Best find out now that its not for you.
