In my last job there was some dangerous elements including heavy machinery, low temperatures, forklifts, dangerous gases etc. so safety was very important! In my current job I’m usually based in the office/home/or another country, so nothing more dangerous then normal.
Nothing too dangerous. The most harmful item we have in the lab are the lasers. They could potential damage or blind you. You have to be very careful around them and other people. You cannot wear jewellery around them in case they reflect off it and into your or someone else’s eye. We also have a solar simulator, it’s a lamp that mimics the light that comes from the sun, it has UV light in it, so we have to be careful not to damage our skin with it.
My job currently is not too hazardous.
The jobs I had in the power plant were the most dangerous ones I have had. We had many hazards there from things superheated steam, working in confined spaces, falls from height or chemicals in the water treatment plant. We always had to work hard to ensure all the appropriate health and safety measure were in place to prevent anyone from getting hurt.
