    I am from Galway in Ireland where I went to school and university. I have travelled to America, Canada, Indonesia, and around Europe and I want to keep going after I finish my project! I am a massive fan of pizza (all kinds) and watching movies! I also enjoy staying fit and healthy by going to the gym. I love hanging out with friends too!

  • My Work: I am trying to 3D print a screw that can heal your bones if they break and then disappear out of the body once the bone is healed!

    So my job is to try and develop a material made from a metal and a plastic and then use a 3D printer to make screws and plates which can hold a broken bone in place while it is being healed. Once the screws and plates have done their job and the bone is healed they have to disappear out of the body (We call this ‘biodegradation’)

  • My Typical Day: I get to the lab at around 9am and start to read research papers (basically newspapers for engineering and science) then I will do some experiments and try to 3D print something and then have lunch with friends. After lunch I might have a meeting with my supervisor or prepare a report or presentation and then go home.

  • What I'd do with the money: I would buy a basic 3D printer and donate it to a local school.

    I would buy a 3d printer and a software that some primary school students could use to get used to the idea of creating things and engineering.

      Volunteered at first aid helping people after they were injured but I also liked biology, maths, and physics which made me want to do engineering
