Who said beeing an engineer and an athlete is not possible? I’ve always reconciled sport and studies. I’ve been a gynmast, a swimmer, a handball player and more recently an ultimate frisbee player. And I’ve been good at school as well. I went to an engineering school in Paris, got 2 master’s degrees, and recently started a PhD in Ireland.
If you ever wonder why in Ireland, I would say why not? It’s definetely not thanks to the weather, but I love to travel in different countries and learn about their culture.

More and more people are connected to the Internet, which increases the traffic of messages. To cope with that, the Internet (also called network) has to be able to carry more messages and to propagate them faster. One solution for that is the use of optical fiber, a very fast cable. However, it is impossible to replace all the current cables (which are “Ethernet” cable for the largest part) with the new optical fiber. We need to find a way of managing the old cables with the new ones so that they can work together. That’s what I’m trying to do; I am investigating new ways of controlling the Internet network so that messages can either go through the old cables, or take a new path with the fibers, or even take both, the unique goal being travelling as fast as possible.

My Typical Day: I wake up at 7am, have a breakfast and then go to work. The morning is usually doing some research on my computer, writing some software code, then lunch with some friends and then doing experiments in the lab in the afternoon. I go home at 4-5pm and then I have a training of either swimming or ultimate frisbee.
