I work as a support engineer, so I help customers solve any problems that they have. We get to work with and talk to customers all over the world. Each day we have a new puzzle that we need to solve that involves going into the system and investigating to try solve the issue.
I organise lots of events outside of work too that support people, especially girls, who work in or are interested in technology. We have meetups where we get to meet lots of people and hear their stories about where they work and how they use technology in their day to day. We get to learn about different things from the people in our group for example how maps work and what it is like to work for a company that creates computer games. I also help organise workshops to teach people how to code and learn new coding languages. We get to eat lots of pizza too.

I recently got to go to a national school as part of EU Code Week to teach 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class children how to create their first program in an application called Scratch. It’s a game like lego that you can use to create games, but shows students how to code their very first program. I had lots of fun and there was lots of questions and amazing games that the students created during the workshops.
The teachers were really interested in continuing to do this with the children, so I would love to use the money to bring teachers in and show them how they can teach the children how to do it. I think it’s really important that kids know how much cool things you can do with code and how exciting it can be.
