I am sure it is possible to design something that is efficeint in teh air and on the ground. However, the traffic management might be the hard bit. M;aybe once we have unmanned cars that can drive themselves we can have them to fly as well as they can avoid each other automatically. THere is a lot of work there for engineers to do!

I think so but if we can get into a car and have it drive for us safely without hitting another car or object, then that is when we can start flying them. Otherwise, a car accident is not only an accident for those flying them but also those on the ground where they crash. I look forward to when we can get into a car and have it fly us to places – that’ll be cool.

I don’t think we will see car’s flying in the same fashion as aircraft. The whole management of flying cars is going to be a huge hurdle. I think what is likely to happen is that we will move more into having self-driving cars on the road. As soon as we have all that managed then we just need to add an extra dimension to the equation and control it in exactly the same way. The technology behind a flying car at that stage though is anyone’s guess. Here’s hoping for anti-gravity! *fingers Crossed*
