I have had engineering jobs that were boring, when I was working on really small parts of aircraft and just responsible for the same kind of bits and so was having to do very similar work over and over again, but now I don’t find my job boring at all. I enjoy having an overview of all of the parts of the spacecraft and how they work together. The surprises you get are sometimes the mistakes people make doing their job, but then that gives a new challenge to fix the problem and make it as good as new without losing too much time
Engineering generally involves problem solving or trying to do something better than it was done before. I did a lot of computer programming to get information from photos of the earth taken by satellite. It was always interesting cause you were always trying to do it better ,quicker in a nicer way so it is never really repetitive
In my job, I’m continuously faced with surprises so it is rarely boring. It can be frustrating, annoying, exciting, challenging, but not boring – at least in the areas I have worked. With that said, not every job is like that and boredom can set in which is why you need to always look for something to challenge you even if it is outside of work.
Being motivated and enjoying what you do while having a boss that gives you some freedom to do things, will mean boredom will rarely occur
It can be just like every other office job and be a bit boring, but the subject matter is always extremely interesting. I’m only new to the industry and this company so I’m not getting any big tasks with a lot of responsibility. That will come with time and for now I’ve got to work my way up through the lesser tasks. I enjoy the challenge though.
