Yes it was hard. When I was in leaving cert year I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. But as I was goid at maths and sciences I decided to give engineering a go. I’d advise you to do something you enjoy or have a flair for. Like that you won’t mind getting up every day to go to work!
I had no idea to be honest. I figured I liked science but going to University had to study Chemistry & Physics for the first time. I came out with a Physics hons degree so I guess it was only in college that I figured out where my aptitudes lay
It was very hard for me because I wanted to do everything! My CAO form was all over the place- ranging from communications course at DCU, to Optics at Kevin Street, to Engineering at UCD. I’m glad that I chose Engineering in the end though, but all of these subjects were just as interesting to me. And still are.
