• Question: Have you ever experimented with nuclear fusion before?

      No I haven’t experimented with nuclear fusion before although it does interest me. Obvious reason would be for the availability of energy if we were finally able to do it, as it hasn’t been done yet. But also for planetary and potentially interstellar travel. A nuclear fusion rocket has been designed in the past for potential missions to the stars, such as Daedulus. The missions usually takes around 100 years or less, and massive vehicles are required but still cool to think of.

      I did also work in a Plasma Physics lab. in Dublin last year out in DCU. Some of the guys I ate lunch with were working on nuclear fusion and sounded interesting. DCU would be a good place for it if you were interested in it.
