      I became and engineer by accident!
      My studies were in science – Physics and Chemisty, and then a Masters in Optical physics and instrumentation. When some former colleagues from Ireland told me about an optical engineering job at ESA, I applied and was selected. That was 25 years ago, and I’ve been doing engineering since then and still love it!
      Studying Physics is a great place to start a career in either science or engineering.
