Great question. It depends on the size of the satellite. Sometimes the materials go up in batches on rockets and then all the pieces fit together like a puzzle. Thankfully with our satellite EIRSAT-1, it is only one piece, the size of a milk carton. So it will go on a rocket to the international space station and then be launched into space from there.
One answer is by launchers or rockets, taking the materials up from Earth into space.
The International Space Station has rockets taking up supplies of food, clothing, air, water, instruments, and so on.
There are plans to try to build places for astronauts on the Moon, or eventually on Mars, where they would try to use some materials they hope they can find there, especially water. But these plans are still way in the future.
