February 2015 – Boole Zone

After our first I’m an Engineer event last November, and thanks to funding from Science Foundation Ireland’s Discover ProgrammeI’m an Engineer comes back to Ireland in February!

During Engineers Week, from Monday 2nd to Friday 13th February, we will be celebrating the bicentenary of George Boole’s birth with the Boole Zone. George Boole was an mathematician, philosopher and logician. He worked in algebraic logic, and was appointed as the first professor of mathematics at University College Cork in 1849.

We are looking for five engineers who use Boolean logic in their work, to answer questions online, and chat with curious students all around Ireland.

As engineer David said “I was very impressed with the questions, which covered all kinds of aspects of engineering and science as well as what it’s like to actually be a working engineer.”

Apply now to take part!

Apply before Friday 9th January.
