I’m an Engineer, get me out of here! is back with the Metre Zone, running in Science Week!
Between 9th–20th November the five engineers in this general engineering zone will be competing for the school students’ votes in fast-paced live chats and answering questions on everything from robots, to coding, to sewers systems, to medical microwaves.

I help build robotic tubes to investigate the inside of peoples’ lungs.

I make programs to find bad webpages in the internet.
Martin O’Halloran | National University of Ireland Galway
I use microwave signals to diagnose and treat diseases, such as cancer and stroke.
Nicola Greene | Sanitation Consultant, UNICEF
I work in Africa trying to improve access to toilets and subsequently treating the waste from them in the city of Blantyre, Malawi – can you imagine if we didn’t have toilets?
Christina Lynch | System support engineer
I help customers solve any problems that they have by investigating a new puzzle every day!
