I am an electronic engineer that has moved into software development.
My first real job was developing distance learning software for the visual impaired in DCU. After that I did a internship in Google, creating a remote monitoring tool.
I started working with parkbytext just over 4 years ago. My current work has me leading the development team creating for a mobile parking payments system that are used in Ireland, UK and US. In short we make it easy for people to pay for their parking.
In my space time, I am involved in running Dublin’s hackerspace Tog. Tog is a community run and group funded shared space where people can work on all sorts of projects.
Hacking an old LED Sign
During the summer, I get together with a fab team and put on a special one day event called Dublin Maker. A one day community run event, where makers can to showcase all the great projects they create.Its a “show and tell” experience where over 12,000 people come face to face with crazy inventors.

Arduino Day is a worldwide birthday celebration of Arduino. A fun an easy to use Open-source electronic prototyping platform that allows people to create interactive electronic objects. I want to buy in a number of starter kids and run an intro workshop to get kids into making.
I ran a similar event for Gris last October where they all created computer control lighthouses. See below.
