      Hi ponylover,

      Absolutely. In my opinion and from my experience, most people are capable of doing most things – natural ability is certainly important but it plays a much smaller role than you might think. To be successful I think three things are super important – and they are things that I think everyone can have.
      1_ Hard work. To be successful you need to consistently do your best work very hard. There are no shortcuts.
      2_ Embrace failure. When things dont work, we learn from it. Think about how long it takes to walk and learn to speak. When you are learning something new, you need to accept that for a time you will not be very good. Once you get better, push yourself into doing new things that you will make mistakes on. This is how you ensure you keep learning.
      3_ Don’t listen to people who don’t believe in you. At some point someone or people will try intentionally or unintentionally to put you off achieving what you want to achieve. It may be hard to do but you need to to ignore them. Know that hard work and perseverance will pay off.

      This question reminds me of a really cool poem I came across a few years ago. Maybe some of you will like it.

      %%%%%
      When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

      When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
      When the funds are low and the debts are high,
      And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
      When care is pressing you down a bit-
      Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
      Life is queer with its twists and turns,

      As every one of us sometimes learns,
      And many a fellow turns about
      When he might have won had he stuck it out.
      Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
      You may succeed with another blow.
      Often the goal is nearer than

      It seems to a faint and faltering man;
      Often the struggler has given up
      Whe he might have captured the victor’s cup;
      And he learned too late when the night came down,
      How close he was to the golden crown.
      Success is failure turned inside out –

      The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
      And you never can tell how close you are,
      It might be near when it seems afar;
      So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –
      It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
