      I had an experiment in college, where we were to test the strength of a piece of steel material. We used a special machine in the lab, which would hold the piece of steel. The machine would then pull both ends apart. The students would stop the machine every 5 minutes to measure the amount of movement in the piece of steel until it broke.

      On one occasion, not all the measurements were taken, and the experiment was considered to be a fail.
