• Question: Why is math and science so essential to becoming an engineer and if I didn't do those subjects but later on decided I wanted to be an engineer what should I do ??

      Math and science are the ingredients of engineering. Without an understanding of these we would not be able to understand how everything works.

      I did not do physics in secondary school, and I was good at it in college. But you will need to do Maths, most secondary schools have Maths as a compulsory subject so there is no way around that.

      The CAO requirements will give you an idea of what level of each subject you need to do to be accepted on an engineering course. Some universities and colleges ask you to take a separate exam to your maths results in your leaving cert.
