When I was 5, with my parent’s help, I wrote a letter to NASA telling them about my interest in space and what they do. I thought it was really nice that they replied and gave me lots of information on space, the planets in our solar system and their different rockets. It was completely unexpected.
I certainly did but to Umberto Guidoni, the European Space Agency Astronaut.
It was in 2001, I think. It was a quick message with regard to the controversial decision of Russia to bring a paying tourist ( the very first) on board the International Space Station.

Hello there from Ireland,
Are you going to welcome Tito on board the International Space Station, and if so will he be allowed into the American area.
Regards,
Canice
Umberto Guidoni replied:
Hello Canice,
We will be leaving before Tito will get into the Station. There is a technical limitation that prevents us from having more than 10 people on board the Station at this stage. I don’t know of any limitation other than that
Ciao,
Umberto Guidon
