Nope, I went to a community school. I didn’t really understand what engineering was until just before my leaving cert when I was filling out applications to college. These days we are trying much harder to make sure students know more about all the different things you can do in engineering!

I also did not go to private school, I also went to an all girls school so engineering was really NOT a big thing in my school. It most definitely did not stop me! There is now so much more emphasis on engineering and science then there ever was when I was in school. I also go to all girls schools to talk about engineering and there is still quite a low number of girls in engineering. The fact that there is this is a great way to find out more about it!

No, I went to a public school for both primary and secondary school. Engineering wasn’t a big thing in secondary school, but we were lucky enough to have some science labs and some great science teachers. They always encouraged any interest in science.
