      Barbara Beskind is an amazing woman in STEM. She s a designer and internationally recognized inventor in the field of occupational therapy where even at the age she is now of 95, she’s still designing and building things to make life easier for the elderly. When she was a young girl she wasn’t allowed to study engineering but she joined the army and got into it that way and she’s still working now!

      Yes, I have a role model, and his name is Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He was an aerospace scientist who devoted his entire life to science and the welfare of society. He is known as the “Missile man of India”.

      He also served as the 11th President of India; and one of his beautiful quotes that always inspire me goes as: “Dream is not what you see in sleep, Dream is something which doesn’t let you sleep”.

      I suppose the role models for me would have been my supervisors while I was in college or in my first engineering job. They provided me with help and guidance while I was in college or on my internship and really showed me how engineering works and how beneficial it really is!

      One of the biggest lessons I learned is to always work with people you get on well with, even if the job itself isn’t very interesting. One of my previous supervisors had a huge impact on how I worked and taught me a lot on how to deal with certain situations
