Recently, I was involved in the development of a wristwatch-based sensor device for wireless health monitoring of patients.
The main challenge with this project was to improve the wireless communication range of the device and make sure that the device measures the health parameters accurately.
However, I succeeded in overcoming the challenges and the developed device was successfully implemented to monitor the health parameters (such as body temperature, blood pressure, heartbeat, blood oxygen level, etc.) of the patients wirelessly over a long-range.
Definitely the swallowing robot. It was very challenging to replicate peristalsis (how the oesophagus moves food to your stomach). It took a lot of research and changing of ideas to come up with a solution. The main challenge was to keep the biosimulator (robot) constantly wet like the oesophagus would be with saliva and stilltest at the same time. It kept drying up! Using gels and a slippy materials solved this problem.
