You are paid to be a problem-solver. You get to balance lab work with field work. You get to travel and meet a huge range of people. If you’re good, you’ll become a team leader and manage interesting projects.
If you like any of the engineering related courses in school, definitely consider it (engineering, physics, chemistry, maths, etc).
I think it’s a brilliant job. There are so many jobs that there is something that everyone can do. There are also so many jobs that haven’t even been created yet so I’m super excited to see what new opportunities there will be for all you guys asking these great questions.
