What I'd do with the money: I would buy myRIO, the next generation smart controller, and show school students how to do very cool stuff with it!

myRIO combines best features of real-time controller and FPGA. Researchers at Centre for Robotics & Intelligent Systems (CRIS), University of Limerick have designed and developed reconfigurable, observation class, inspection Remotely Operated Vehicle – IROV, aimed to perform periodic and post storm inspection of offshore marine renewable energy (MRE) converters, moorings and foundations, reducing the need for commercial divers to be employed in this difficult and potentially dangerous environment. myRIO is used as the main device to control thrusters, lights, leak detectors, etc. I would show school students how to develop LabVIEW code for myRIO for real-time thruster and light control.
