The goal of my research is to work on robotic arms and hands and to use cameras to make them better. The research of my entire research group is on personal service robots, which means robots which can help people. So hopefully my arm and hand will eventually be used on a robot which can help people.
We are starting with people who might struggle to live independently so typically elderly people or people with disabilities. When we develop such a robot we imagine that it will also be useful for able bodied people as a person robot.
