– setting up experiments inside huge chambers where I expose materials to space-like conditions
– analysing the materials using instruments such as microscopes and spectrometers
– using software to process data and visualise it with plots and images
– writing reports with the results and what I have learned
– sharing my results with colleagues
– reading colleagues’ reports
– discussing our findings
– reading scientific papers
– expanding on current theory
I also have some time to learn about what others are doing through talks, workshops and meetings which gives me a better perspective on the different pieces that are put together to make a satellite. It makes everyday unique and really fun.
