Cramps are caused by a muscle that holds really tight and then relaxes, but it can really hurt! Sometimes if you overwork a muscle or if it can’t get enough oxygen through your blood, it can start to cramp. Sometimes cramps are your body trying to expel something or move it into another part of your body. Ouch!
Cramps can be caused for a number of different reasons. The main one is dehydration. Others can be caused by over exertion or causing a strain on the muscle. Another reason is the build up of lactic acid which can be offset by taking lots of deep breaths and pumping more oxygen into your blood to neutralise it.
