I am from Colombia, where I have 4 dogs and a cosy house in the country side. I love nature and swimming is my favourite sport.

I joined the Tyndall National Institute in Cork in 2017. I am working on the challenge of developing a clinical device to measure oxygen levels in the lungs of preterm babies. The device work with lasers that can deliver light through the thorax and reach the lungs. The light interacts with the oxygen and then travels back to a detector which is connected to a computer.

I would love to create an artificial rainbow demonstration. Where I use an empty aquarium with a small water hose with a diffuser attached to the tip to create the correct size of water droplets to create the colourful bow. I would implement a withe light source to mimic the sun and another set of  LED with ‘pure colors’ to explain the nature of sun light and how the water droplets act as a prism separating it into all the colors of the visible spectrum.

I would need an arduino, motors and electronic components to control the size of the water droplets, and change the light source from a cellphone.

I would write a tutorial of “How to make your personal rainbow at home”  with explanation of the composition of white light and this beautiful effect.
