Isaac Newton was pretty amazing. Without him there wouldn’t be any mechanical engineering. He worked out how things move and how forces act. It was all so new at the time he had to invent a whole new type of maths to work out the answers – that’s Calculus.

Leonardo da Vinci was a bit of everything, I think he’s amazing! He was a brilliant artist – painter & sculptor. But he was also a brilliant engineer, he did sketches & drawings of inventions long before anyone else thought of them. He really was a genius!

Nikola Tesla is mine. He was an inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist, who helped design the -modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. He was a sterotypical “Mad Scientist”, but invented some crazy stuff like wireless power & communication.

I look up to an engineer called Peter Rice – he was always thinking of ways to do things differently and always accepted a challenge. Check out more info on him here – http://creativityni.org/news/queens-celebrates-engineering-icon
