No! To tell the truth, I do find that some males can be a little bit judgemental when you first meet them but this is the minority and when they see that you can do your job just as well as males they respect you. In my university class there were about 30 girls and in the office I work in now about half the workforce is female so it’s pretty equal.
No, not at all. Where I work it’s about 70%male.
The only thing that matters is your ability to do a good job, it dosent matter I’f your male or female here, we all work in the same team together and as long as you can pull your weight on the team then it’s all good.
I have to say it would be nice if it was 50/50 but only for social stuff like nights out!
No thank god! There are definitely less females in engineering but there’s a lot more than there was 20 years ago. Guys are no longer surprised to see female engineers in work, so you are judged on your ability rather than your gender. I went from an all-girls secondary school to a mechanical engineering course in college (65 guys to 3 girls) which was a little intimidating at first! But I got so used to it you don’t even realise after a few months, you aren’t treated any differently.
