I come from China and have lived in Cork for more than 8 years now with my husband and 2 small kids. I love various kinds of foods and have become quite good at cooking now due to the limited choice of Chinese food in Cork. I have enjoyed my life here and have a Cork accent now.
My Work: I look at different ways to test the different properties of light. like humans have height, weight, light also has its power, color, etc.

I design lasers which is an object that could generate light. I also build up setups to measure its properties.

My Typical Day: I go to the lab before 8:30 a.m.., turn on the equipment to warm up, test devices, have lunch at around 1 p.m., continue the test, record data, and analyze data to find out what is happening.
What I'd do with the money: demos for our photonic circuits, including lego, workshop, equipment to make videos.

our circuits could use lego blocks to explain the ideas. 3D printing is also a good idea.

general topics explanation, like laser, LED, could be done with students/researchers through videos. equipment like wearable mics will be helpful.
