• Question: Was your family supportive of your career choice?

      Yes, absolutely. I’m still kind of explaining to them what it is I do though! I have one uncle who was an electrical engineer (now retired), but that’s it. My family placed a high value on education and it’s hard to argue with an engineering degree – it’s just one of the best and most adaptable qualifications you can get.

      Sure, my mom and dad told me that it did not matter what I chose as far as I was happy with it. They well quite happy with my choice in any case since my father as Professor in physics, my mom is a nurse, and my brother a mathematician. So, doing biophotonics I bridge the interests of the three of them 🙂

      Totally supportive! My family was always pushing me to do better in the direction I would prefer. They would have been supportive any (not dangerous) decision I would have taken.

      My family were very supportive and encouraging of my decision to pursue a career in engineering.
      They’ve been very helpful throughout my studies, and have been there when I’ve wanted to discuss any career moves.
