They’re were a few great engineers ( Bob Pease and Jim Williams, to name a few) who worked for some of the early semiconductor companies in silicon valley that write done great articles about everything from electronics and tech to live in general, and also designed great products.
If I have half the impact those guys had in my lifetime, I’ll have done very well.
My grandmother! She had a simple and not easy life. She went to school for only 3 years when she was a kid and she was barely able to write. But this did not stop her from being curious, passionate and open to the world. She always told me to go out and discover the world and that I should never stop to “travel” and “study”!
I don’t really have idols, but there are lots of people who I draw inspiration from, including lots of historical figures in science and engineering like Leonardo Da Vinci and Leonar Euler. I admire the work of a lot of creative artists like musician Kate Bush, filmmaker David Lynch, Iranian artist Monir Farmanfarmaian. One person who has really changed how I think about my teaching is a guy called Grant Sanderson who created the YouTube maths channel 3Blue1Brown.
