I really wanted to have an impact on the world, and use my skills to do so. I am very interested in technology, and doubly interested that it can be for the greater good.

I’ve always been interested by technology and computers.
In truth though, I chose to study engineering because I really didn’t know what I wanted to work on.
Engineering related to my interested, and provided the highest number of different possible careers once I had completed the course.
For example, colleagues of mine from college are working in loads of different areas, from finance to software development, hardware design to manufacture, entrepreneurs to managers.
Even once you start down a particular career path, there are always options to change to a different track if you need a new experience.
