I live in Cambridge, England with my wife. We love to play tennis, practice yoga and cycling around from A to B. We don’t have a car and like to keep our carbon footprint low! I like to read up on the latest science and engineering developments in my spare time, like in the New Scientist Magazine!

My Work: I look at satellite images and other maps to see how nature is disappearing

I look at satellite images and other maps to see how nature is disappearing, from the Arctic ice to the tropical rain forests, and then work with my colleagues to try to think of a cunning plan what to do about it by writing reports for politicians to understand!
-
My Typical Day: Read emails, do some analysis of data or reading other people's analysis, summarise what i learned and share it with colleagues for further analysis, then send emails and go home!
-

I would organise a field trip to demonstrate these tools to school students in my local area. The money could be spent on hiring a bus to take the students to the field site and/or to pay for any equipment needed for the demonstration.
